I love it! My daughters love it! You don't need to spend $300 on math curriculum. Go to her website for more of a look at the pages!I initially looked at math u see, Singapore, and mathematical reasoning. I have fallen in love with this series! I found it a while ago and second guessed myself. So glad I finally decided to get it.

My daughter is loving this math. They have great stories that apply to the math. They are not long stories that take forever to get to the point. They are short and are focused on one kind of math problem as opposed to multiple concepts. Her older brother loves to listen in or even help her with it!

Amazing book here. I get overwhelmed with some of the other curriculums out there. I have freedom with my state to choose what subject I want to implement. It's my first year homeschooling and I chose this. I couldn't be happier. They have daily plans written out on the page. We wiz past a couple of them a day because my son enjoys this book so much. They do talk about God. Not overkill though. I would definitely recommend this book. Actually I already bought book 3!

My girls have loved this curriculum so much more than any other. The stories and short lessons keep them engaged. They often want to do more than one in a single sitting. The reviews through out help keep the information fresh. It's presented in a way that shows how math is used in the real world. Having a godly message is a plus along with the twins in the story being homeschooled giving someone my girls can relate to.

I purchased this book based on a recommendation and have not been disappointed. My child needs a gentle approach to math and this currículum is perfect. I appreciate the Charlotte Mason inspired teaching. It's so easy to use and not overwhelming at all. At some times I supplement with extra work as needed, which is no problem. I'm looking forward to the higher levels in this curriculum.

A friend told me about this math curriculum and I'm so glad she did! My daughter went from dreading math to loving it! The story integration into the lessons is genius and the real life application keeps math fun and interesting. No more dry math! So glad I found this!!

This is a solid math book. I really like the variety. My only reason for docking it a star is there are a couple of areas where it doesn’t explain the assignment well enough and it’s left me as the parent scratching my head a couple of times.

This math curriculum is amazing! My daughter loves math again. Also, the price for a full year of math is amazing and hard to beat. Place Value Village seems to be her favorite so far- we use all kinds of random counters for PVV. Her favorite counters for PVV- Shopkins! :)

If you have to use this for a class, understand that it is a basic overview of HR Management. If you recently graduated from High School, you will probably enjoy the style and manner in which this book is arranged - almost like "sound bites," or bits of information to keep your attention. If, on the other hand, you would like a book that goes in depth and is written for a graduate student... this is not the one for you. Try Mr. Dessler's "Human Resource Management." It is several times the size and has several times the information of "Framework" and is a better representation of Dessler's work.My wife had to have this book for a Bachelor program and it had very little information for her essays. My copy of "Human Resources Management" had the information she actually needed to complete her papers.

Wow! Just wow! I couldn’t believe what I was looking at when I opened my package. The product is beautiful and presented in absolutely an amazing hard cover. It definitely blew my expectations! I’m in love with my book!! Thanks Amazon!

My professor did not use texts for class. Hee lectured and whatever he said in class was on the test.I read this book to teach myself the material and got an A in the class. Easy to read and understand.

I can assure you that this book will not teach you to shrink a boat and place it within glass. It will also not teach you how to be a one eyed pirate either. Now if you happen to hire a one eyed pirate who has a sexual harassment case which entails a glass boat and a mini boat.....then you will be fully prepared to deal with this situation after reviewing the contents of this book.

The pages itself in the book are fine, however, it appears someone took a knife to back if the book cutting into the cover and some of the pages in the back. I'm hoping to get in contact with someone for a new book or a refund. Not entirely happy about this.

The book is in good condition as stated. None of the pages have highlighting or writing on them. The spine isn’t even broken, so the book has barely even been opened.

Item mostly as described. It was a little rough looking when I received it, pages were trying to separate from the spine of the book, but it still had all pages present and done the job it was supposed to do.

I got this textbook for my online class and I saved a lot of money because university textbooks can be really expensive. I am so glad I found this book. I gave this item five stars because shipping was fast and it was brand new.

I love this series and this book is no different. It's a little dark and gritty, intriguing and well written. A priest has to come to terms with his vows concerning confessions and his personal sense of justice. Can he keep quiet? Shay is on the case and per usual, pulls the smallest details out of virtually nothing. I love how the author pieces together clues until the whole picture is formed. I also love that Jackson and Shay seem to be moving forward in their relationship. Can't wait for the next.

The Shaye Archer series is a little darker and more serious than all of Jana DeLeon’s other series but don’t let that turn you away. This is an excellent series to get wrapped up in. In the latest installment of Shaye’s story, she finds herself investigating a crime from a confession given to a priest. She has no proof that it actually occurred, no witnesses, no evidence, only a confession with the barest of details to go by. It seems like an impossible case but Shaye finds a way to get the bad guy. You think you know who the bad guy is by the middle of the book but don’t be fooled, Ms. DeLeon throws one heck of a curve ball. The end of the book is quite a shocker when you find out who it really is. The best part of this series is how far those unexpected twists go. And these books are full of them. If you haven’t tried the series yet I definitely recommend it.

What a fantastic book! I really like all the Shaye Archer stories but Jana DeLeon has done a great job with this book and the continuing story. Shaye has survived a horrific childhood and with the help of her adoptive mother and her therapist she has carved out a productive place for herself in her recovery. To her mother’s horror Shaye has decided to become a private investigator. She has completed her internship and has hung out her shingle. Thus each story is a mystery solving her latest case. Along the way recurring characters make there presence. My favorite is Detective LaMotte, Shaye ‘s romantic interest. Their relationship is sweet and slow developing. My only sadness is I have to wait for the next book.

Nicolas Chatry a young priest ordained a year, hears a disturbing confession of the person confessing to murder. The seal of the confession means the priest can't disclose anything that they learn with the threat of excommunication. He has a tremendous burden in deciding what to do as the killer could kill again. On top of that he is confined to a wheelchair due to an auto accident which limits his ability to react to someone who is stalking him as a potential next victim. Lots of suspects in this serial killer mystery. Another girl has disappeared and the hunt is on to find her before she's killed. Both Shaye and Detective Lamotte are working on what turns out to be the same case, but Shaye is bound by promising to keep Father Nicolas's testimony to herself. The only annoying complaint is that the phrase "blowing out a breath" was used by numerous characters 23 times! It got to be a game as I kept track. The mystery of who done it and the returning characters made for a quick read. I think this is my favorite of the series as it really drew me into the characters. It helps to read books in order, but not absolutely necessary.

Father Nicholas, hearing a confession of a murderer requesting forgiveness, led to an interconnected web of victims, suspects, and the one least likely murderers. From Hailey's abduction, Sunny's crucifixion, and Nicholas' torment, St.Mary's Church would become the latest nail in the coffin on religions' pitfalls.Great characters, intricate plot, captivating writing/editing, and an unbelievable antagonist, that never made it onto my initial list of suspects. So glad Shaye and Jackson are finally moving their relationship up to the next rung on the dating ladder. A MUST-READ novel, that is gravity defying!!03/02/19

Once again Jana DeLong brings us a fantastic book about Shaye Archer. Spoiler alert, hope you don’t have anything planned for tomorrow, you’ll be reading all night. I like the small notes that Ms. DeLong brings into the story to bring you up to date on what Shaye’s life has been in the previous books. However, this is truly one series were I would recommend you start with book 1 to get the depth of Shaye’s story, her adopted mother Corrine and Eleanor the therapist. The relationship she has with Detective LaMotte all made the story real. When Father Nicholas Chatry who is in a wheelchair hears a confession of a murder, he turns to his mentor Father Bernard Abshire the senior pastor of St. Mary’s. Should he break his vows and what will be the punishment if he does? When Jackson LaMotte gets a case of a missing girl, Hailey Pitre; you can’t help but thing will the two mysteries come to be one. Can't wait for book 8

This series has me hooked and it's not my usual genre. A compelling storyline with a few teasers and twists. Quick appearances by Corinne, Eleanor and Hustle - loved seeing them. What I missed from this book was delving into Shaye's story. Watching her work through persoanl issues as well as the current. This book focused on the current mystery and Shaye's ability to relate, but no more reveals about her past. Of course there's the last line of the book, which is more of testament to how far she's come.

If Ms DeLeon had not written such funny, silly books as her Ghost in Law series and Unlucky, I would truly sorry about how in-depth her knowledge is about serial killers and there thought process. Chilling! When I first began reading this series I didn't realize how serious this series would be. Complete turn around from her other books even though their were protagonists in all of them. Wonderful read.

This is no “one approach fits all” approach, in the way like “when I could, you can do too”, but differentiated approaches for different kind of conditions, life styles and approachesSecond, I think the absolute game changer is her approach to EASE into KETO - to not go full blown KETO with a snap of your fingers (chapter 6). This book also includes protocols to help you keep track - different protocols for the first to week (ease into KETO) and for the “real” KETO phase, for different amount of calories.Third: even if you not decide to go KETO, the recipes in this book are amazing. I think I wasted a whole package of stick it notes to almost all of them - and I am a picky eater with picky eater kids, but I know they will love most of the recipes as well.Also, often when I see people posting their KETO recipes- full of fat, meat, cheese, sweeteners, but with no veggie or fruit to seee for days - it made me wonder how this style of living could be healthy. All of Diane’s recipe include veggies (or fruits).It is also a KETO approach that is closer to a “real food” or “paleo” approach, and it looks sustainable.Lastly, even if you don’t want to go full blown KETO, just eat better or get healthier, you will learn a lot from this book - there is no way this book is going to be a vaste of money.

I've never written a review for a book before, but I felt compelled to write this one. I have eaten paleo for a year and was never really interested in keto. Once "whole foods keto" or "low carb paleo" started making its way to social media, I became a little intrigued. I have learned so much from this book. The first half is almost like a textbook (in a good way) with SO much information, and then the second half is the meal plans and recipes. I'm following the four-week meal plan provided in the book. I am a major meal prepper and planner and she nailed this, with little notes on what to do each day (make a sauce for the following day, etc). In her shopping lists she also includes a section where it lists items that you likely already have in your kitchen, but should double check before shopping to see if you're running low. How helpful! Very excited to see where the next four weeks takes me and so glad I have this tool to guide me. Thank you, Diane and team!

I have followed Dianne for some years now. I own all of her books. After purchasing her book: The 21 day Sugar Detox Daily Guide, and having much success with my health, I was thrilled to learn about her Keto book. I pre-ordered this book as soon as I knew about it - this book did not disappoint. If you have any questions about Keto and whether or not it is right for you, this book is a must have. She answers just about any question you might have, using language that anyone can understand. She even cites the research she references (yes I know she should - but not many have been doing that). She has wonderful recipes with color photos and nutritional information. She has meal plans that you can follow if you need something to help you get started.She makes a lifestyle, that can seem daunting, very user friendly and easy to follow. I am looking forward to a successful year following her suggestions.I own both the Kindle and paper copy. As always the Kindle version can be hard to read when looking at charts. This issue has nothing to do with the author but a limitation of Kindle and electronic formats in general. I use the Kindle version when going to the grocery store so I don't have to write down what I need.

I have been a long-time supporter of Diane's work. Her honest and genuine approach when it comes to helping and guiding others is inspiring. This book, Keto QuickStart isn't just another Dogmatic Keto cookbook. It's really a navigation tool that brings solid, scientific based knowledge to you in a way that is understandable and applicable to your everyday life. Each chapter you read will have you excited to read the next, and the next, and the next! Once you do get to her meal prep and recipe section you'll be drooling with delight and excited to get started right away. I especially loved the Pumpkin Spice Keto Pancakes and HIGHLY recommend them (I made mine into cute little waffles). So delicious, so satisfying, and incredibly nourishing. I pre-ordered this book the moment I was able to, but I need to note that I was provided with a review copy before the launch, however, I was NOT compensated to leave a review and that the review is my own independent opinion of the book.

It’s a rambunctious, rollicking, rhyming, linguistic farce, a mixture of Rabelais and Tristram Shandy, a whimsical and poetical satire. Full of interruptions and digressions, exegetical jokes, interminable lists of archaic vocabulary, citations, elaborations and not least, sheer raunchiness. The title refers to love-making, or to a traveler putting one foot in front of the other, or even to the relaxed posture of the armchair lexicographer. The author, Ahmad Fāris al-Shidyāq, was a Lebanese Maronite who had lived in the East and the West, and was ideally suited to introduce modernism, while simultaneously paying homage to the grammatical texts and authors of classical Arabic literature. The translation is nothing less than heroic.

I agree with everything said above by Paul Drexler. This is an incredible book that deserves to be known widely as a classic. Wonderfully inventive, postmodern before postmodern was a thing, and flat out funny. This book will introduce you into a whole Arabic cultural world that you most likely didn't know existed. This book is well worth buying and reading because it is useful.Firstly, "Your Baby's Best Shot" is a general resource on vaccines, and a valuable handbook for new parents.It packs a great deal of information into its 211 pages, with chapters on the history of vaccines, the biology of immunization, vaccine manufacture and testing. It lists descriptions of individual vaccines, particularly those given in early childhood, and of the diseases they prevent.In addition, the book is partly a response to the vaccine opposition that has arisen in recent years. That opposition is, in general, passionate and very poorly informed. It persists because the community of vaccine opponents has become closed to any information inconsistent with its worldview.Anyone who tries to learn about the risks and benefits of vaccines by going to the Internet is likely to be engulfed by a tide of conspiracy-minded anti-vaccine sites, all reinforcing one another and each trying to be scarier than the next. "Your Baby's Best Shot" book attempts to counter this by presenting accurate scientific information regarding the benefits of immunization, by directly and honestly discussing its (real, though minor) risks, by pointing out what's true and what has been misunderstood about vaccines in the news, and by giving the reader links and references to a wealth of additional information.All this will do nothing to change the minds of true believers, as a glance at the negative reviews of this book will show. I always wonder, someone in Hollywood reads a book, falls on love with it and thinks "This would make a great movie". Then they proceed to change pretty much the entire story until it is barely recognizable as the source material.Is it studio bigwigs interfering or simply hubris? Either way the end is nearly always the same with the book being much better than the film.I didn't hate Kevin Costner's The Postman. I kind of like the movie but it could have been SO much better if it had adhered to the book more than it did. (It is far enough away from this book that it only vaguely resembles it).If you liked the movie, read the book, if you hate the movie, read the book.

I picked up this book because as a teenager I loved the movie. The movie The Postman, starring Kevin Costner, came out in 1997, and was one of my first exposures to the post apocalyptic genre. It was based on this book which was published in 1985. So recently I decided to read the novel. It’s much better than the movie, of course, when isn’t the novel better than the movie? With the novel we are able to get much more in depth descriptions and the characters are fleshed out with descriptive back stories. There was a lot left out of the movie, this novel is so much more than the movie even dreamed of being. A favorite post apocalyptic book by a favorite author of the Uplift Wars and many others...I think I read this when it came out, perhaps 35-40 years ago. Bought it for my 12 yo, perhaps too advanced, but he reads at college level and has read hundreds of books so far. Not sure if this is more or less disturbing than Ender's Game, but similarly has a deep moral message. I've since seen movies that seem to try to play the context and theme treated in this book, but they always disappoint compared to my memory of this remarkable story. I remember crying and laughing and wanting to share it... perhaps I was still young, but I bought it on kindle so both of us could read it. Some years ago there was a movie titled “The Postman” with Kevin Costner that was loosely based on this novel by science fiction writer David Brin.There is nothing science fiction about The Postman. It’s a post-apocalyptic story that plays in Oregon.The book was first copyrighted in 1985 and Brin, being a science fiction writer, created an all-out nuclear war that took place in the early 1990-ies and that brought down civilization worldwide.I like to read science fiction written about a time way in the future from the writer’s present perspective, which also happens to be the present time for me. To do that, you have to not read a new book for 25 or more years.This story takes place in the 2010 to 2012 timeframe, referencing the war that took place 16 years before the start of the story.The immediate aftermath of the war caused a three-year-winter and lawlessness. Massive extinction took crops, animals and people. In the U.S., the government collapsed, and civilization was reduced to marauding bands of violent survivalists and homesteaders who sometimes banded together for mutual support and protection in small communities.Gordon Krantz, the protagonist, is a lone survivor who wandered from St. Paul all the way to eastern Oregon over a period of 16 years, keeping a journal of his travels, surviving somehow off the scraps left by a looted civilization. When the story begins he is robbed of all his possessions by bandits that outnumbered and outgunned him. Faced with imminent death from freezing and starvation in winter in the mountains in eastern Oregon, he must get creative quickly.When he stumbles upon a corpse of a former postman in a Post Office Jeep, he takes the uniform for warmth and the bag as a container – and then he has an idea that changes his life and that of all the people he encounters.Like in most apocalypse stories, there must be some evil besides just the natural disasters that cause impossible situations for the people. In Stephen King’s The Stand, that’s Randall Flagg, the dark lord that takes over Las Vegas and builds an evil empire. In The Postman, the evil people are, ironically, the remaining militant survivalists who concentrated in the Pacific Northwest before the war, digging bunkers, hoarding supplies and ammunition, training in hunting and warfare, with the sole objective to survive in the case of a holocaust. As it turns out, the survivalists, due to competition with each other, pretty much kill each other off, but in the end, after things settle down, they have coalesced into an empire of abuse, slavery, and exploitation – feudalism in the American mainland. And they go to war against the villages and settlements who try to survive against all odds and build a new civilization.Gordon, unwittingly and not really a hero, through the circumstances he creates for himself, becomes key to the solution of this conflict.The Postman is a captivating read, stronger in the first two-thirds of the book which deals with his discoveries. Things get complicated in the end, and the climax is somewhat quick with a deus-ex-machina-flavored solution in the end.Overall, The Postman is a good, credible and entertaining story of a post-apocalyptic America.

I've liked science fiction my whole life, and it's currently popular to do the whole post-collapse thing, but I always chuckle a little at the idea that one person (or even one small group) surviving with toilet paper intact and plenty of ammo somehow means victory over chaos. Civilization is a large group, cooperating for the benefit of all, and identifying with each other as "all of us, together". This book is about creating that, from the scattered pieces of post-collapse.I wasn't a fan of the movie. I've seen Kevin Costner play the reluctant curmudgeon-hero just once too often. This book isn't the movie.

This book is the first fiction book I have really enjoyed in many years. I had come to the conclusion that no one can write good stories anymore (well, this was written in 1985 so maybe that is still true). I have been unable to put this book down - I haven't done that since...well a long time ago. Good writing, easy to read, a few words I have had to look up, and a compelling story that is very different than the movie (better than the movie, at least so far - I still have to finish the story).
