This book is really well written and easy to understand. Every bank has a slightly different way of doing things, and this book acknowledges regional idiosyncrasies while giving reasoning for suggested courses of actions while also giving a good foundation. I think this book best suits newer lenders, but if you go into this book completely clueless it will be a bit difficult. I had a few senior lending officers I could ask questions of, which did help.
A practical, no nonsense guide for commercial bankers. Great tips on sourcing & maintaining profitable client relationships, pricing & showcasing bank products as well as managing risk. Would recommend this book for new bankers as well as seasoned financial professionals. Also a great read for CFOs looking to better understand the lending business.
As a lender I found this book to be well worth reading. The rate swap section is over my head. I have a lot to learn! The book should be read by everyone in commercial lending.
There is a lack of content out there to help lenders. This is one of the few books that I have found that condenses the most important information in one spot. Where was this book when I was starting out? A quick read and can save any new banker time learning the tricks that it took me years to acquire.
