This is the kind of casually informative and beautifully illustrated book that my in-laws would keep in a guest bathroom, but hides a surprisingly intelligent discussion of high-quality tea inside. It is not a comprehensive education on tea for the near-expert (though Sebastian could probably write such a book), but instead gives a thorough overview of tea history, processing, and enjoyment. It’s neither too intimidating for the novice tea-drinker, nor too simplistic for the veteran, and it is all punctuated with beautiful photographs and watercolor illustrations to perfectly accompany the written content.

I love my oolong and I've got a large tea book library. This book packs a lot of information (some of it new to me) into its pages. It's engaging, informative, well-written and beautifully illustrated. I would absolutely recommend it to any tea lover.

A fitting conclusion to Schrefer's beautifully written and hugely entertaining Ape Quartet. This book focuses on Snub, a prehistoric gorilla who comes into contact with early humans as a result of volcanic eruptions. The physical descriptions are vivid as always, and the ape characters even more fully rounded than the humans. I'm not a huge fan of verse novels, which is why I gave the book 4 stars instead of 5. But the idea of telling the story from Snub's point of view was ingenious, and this series remains one of my favorite YA series ever.

Set in the Paleolithic era (about 2.6 million years ago), Snub, a young gorilla, lives peacefully with her family; Silverback, Mother, Brother, Wrinkle, and Teased. Snub soon learns that there are great dangers in her world. She is separated from her family, and only has her new baby brother, Breath, to keep her company. Snub must find her way back home, and to her family. With new and interesting friends, and dangerous enemies, along the way, can Snub finally be reunited with her family once more?My favorite character was Orphan. She is kind and likes figuring things out. She forms a great friendship with Snub and is compassionate and helpful. Orphan is an interesting character and a big part of the story.Throughout the story, Snub often finds members of her family, only to be immediately separated again. This added lots to Snub’s personality and actions, because it made her more determined to find her family. Also, at the top of some pages where a new event begins, illustrations of gorillas are shown to indicate which characters are in the current section. It was a beautiful artistic touch.This book was mainly about determination and perseverance to find those you love. Snub wouldn’t give up until she found her family. It was a very inspiring theme and gave the book character and depth.I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars because of the format, and the gorilla vocalizations. Throughout the story, words like “mrgh” or “hoo” were used in italics to “represent” human words and feelings. It was very confusing, but I still enjoyed this book overall. I recommend this poetic narrative to children ages 9-13, as well as adults. The book is a medium length of 305 pages, and is the fourth book in Eliot Schrefer’s ape quartet, but has no connection to the previous three books. The description is actually interesting: pretty monster girls, and wrestling. Then that's all to it. Lets just say the plot is paper thin, and the promised action looks nothing than just a bunch of unintelligible lines. It's very difficult at times to understand what is exactly happening in the scene. You'll have to backtrack several times to know what's goin on.Regarding the art direction, I sometimes feel like the character designs are rather lazy. The titular Cerberus girl is basically a nekomimi with 2 floating dog heads. Then, there's the first villian which is just a giant snake with a woman torso sitting atop the snake's skull. At times, I believe, the characters doesn't even look appealing. Not even scary, just off.If we try not to pay attention to the rather amorphous characters, and the unlikable smut (this ain't even subtle about it), the plot leaves a lot to be desired. To begin with, it moves the interesting parts super slow, with almost none of the details provided for world building. None of the characters have been introduces besides an incredibly short description, almost as if they had no motivations at all.I'm sad this good idea didn't get enough care put into the important details. And the ink, gosh, that's so much ink!

It's rare to find a monster-girl series that isn't a harem series, but Monster Wrestling is an awesome shonen-action wrestling series. No boys being useless self-insert characters here; just awesome monster girls wrestling. The art is really clean and unique with designs that are as stylistic as they are sexy. The story is a lot of fun and exciting with great characters, especially the two leading ladies. There's even some yuri flavor to the series. Monster Wrestling was a great surprise!

I think this volume marks the beginning of a great sports, Monster Girl series. I can also say that this is the most interesting sports series considering that there are 4 series related to the genres of monster girls/ sports series.

This thing is just bad. A main character more lame thin dink the clown is just one of the problems this thing has. There's also terrible fight scenes, a story line worst thin the anonymous raw gm and fan service as hot as bastion booger. Save money for some thing better!

The character designs are appealing, main character while basic is relatable, and the fights are a lot of fun (there's even a reference/rip off of a semi-obscure Godzilla fight). However theyre only fun when you can tell what the hell is going on, which is about 50/50It's difficult to explain, but the art isnt the problem necessarily, it's the comprehension. It's hard to get a feel for what everyone looks like, especially when they dont have traditional monster designs and when we get zero establishing or wide shots to show everyone independantly before the action starts. And it gets VERY confusing.There's a lot of potential here and i can chalk that up to it being the first volume, hell it was getting better as it was going, but if the next one is the same then i'm not getting 3

This was a beautiful book and story, So worth the price! Very inspirational

My incredible wife who happens to be the "author" wrote this book from having witnessed our granddaughter as she dealt with all the processes she went through to correct her club feet........all while dealing with metastatic breast cancer that returned in 2015 in her liver, lungs and spine! All her life she has wanted nothing more than being a "published author" and in some way HELP PEOPLE with inspiration from her writing. We have teamed up with miraclefeet.org to donate a portion of any money from this book to this AMAZING organization! Thank you for helping us, help them and children all around the world have a "normal life" that Saylor is enjoying!

Book one is an adventure story of real people and events well worth the read. Book two is a factual rendering of history and accomplishments, again well worth the read. The true gem of the three is the third book which humanizes the “Silent Service” by being presented in the first person. A pleasure to read each!

Book 1 - Practically unreadable. Grammar terrible, shifts from 1st to 3rd person in the middle of a sentence, misspellings galore.Book 2 - Self grandiose about how much he did, what high ranking officers he new, etc. It was always ! and me. Notes boat captains by names and places of birth, nothing about the enlisted crews.Book 3 - The best part. 1st person account of the Seawolf's first year at sea, how the subs were used in the first year of WW2, how the crew came together, the trials and tribulations Best part of the book.

A must read for the WWII reader. No maps or photos to make it more real. Hard to put down.

I was anticipating the publishing of this book as I have been familiar with Stein's work as the Dodgers' official team photographer. What you get in this book is a nice blend of posed shots along with never-before published shots of various game stills along with behind the scenes snaps. In addition, Crosby and D'Agostino enlist the help of the still living Brooklyn Dodgers (including Vin Sculley) to tell the reader what is really happening in the photo or why the photo was taken.This is clearly not a rehash of old Dodgers lore or the same, well-published photographs...but an intimate family album of the Brooklyn Dodgers from '37-'57.

Forests have been felled with books written about the much beloved Brooklyn Dodgers. Roger Kahn, Carl Erskine, Red Barber, and numerous others have relished telling us what life was like with Brooklyn baseball, especially from the years 1947 through 1957. In addition, numerous authors have written about Jackie Robinson. However, author Dennis D'Agostino and Bonnie Crosby, daughter of Barney Stein, who was the official photographer of the Brooklyn Dodgers have put together several of Barney's photographs of his years in covering the Dodgers from 1937 through their last season of 1957 in Brooklyn. These are photos not seen before in other books, and numerous details are provided that the reader may otherwise overlook in the picture. I'm fortunate to have the book entitled "The Rhubarb Patch" published in 1954 with Barney Stein's photos and text by Red Barber, and this new effort is a treasure trove of photos from this historical era. One photo that has been often seen is of Jackie Robinson stealing home in the 1955 World Series on pages 90 and 91. The view we are given shows the entire dugout and many of the fans in the stands, several dressed in neckties and fedoras. The on-deck batter for the Dodgers, Frank Kellert, appears to have the best view of whether Robinson was safe or out. When asked for his opinion on the play Kellert drew the rath of Robinson by answering, "I thought he was out." Not mentioned in the caption, but seated in the front row of the stands is "The Big O", Dodgers' owner Walter O'Malley, nattily attired in suit and tie. I'm thankful I can remember the Dodgers of the 1950's, but whether you are old enough to do so or not, if you enjoy baseball history, I would highly recommend, yes, one more book on the Brooklyn Dodgers.

I thought I had seen just about every shot of the "Boys of Summer" but boy was I wrong. The book had some fabulous and nostalgic photos of my childhood heroes. Well written and enjoyable reading added to the wonderful photos. A must for every Brooklyn Dodger fan

One of the best books on the "real" Dodgers of yesteryear. Barney Stein's unique photographs throughout are worth the price of the book. Excellent commentary.

I bought this book for my husband for Christmas. He loves anything connected with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The book is very nice and the pictures inside are large so you can see the details. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a Dodger fan.
